All tracks require a 4WD vehicle, and are perfect for stress free, enjoyable exploration.

SELF DRIVE

Wander at your own pace through our 26,000ha conservation area, with over 40 km of tracks accessible only by 4WD. Pack your lunch and spend the day exploring and getting up-close-and-personal with our wildlife!

With prior arrangement, you could be the first person out there to witness one of our vibrant sunrises over the wetlands whilst having breakfast with the birds. Or you could be the last person around as night closes in, sitting with a glass of wine and watching a magnificent Coorong sunset.

The 4WD tracks offer you stress-free enjoyable exploration, and are suitable for all levels of experience. A visit to Watervalley Wetlands will add another dimension to your trip to the Coorong.

OUR TAG TOURS

Watervalley Wetlands is one of the Coorong’s hidden treasures. To enhance your nature-based experience we offer guided half-day or full-day tag-tours. On these tours you will learn about local history, flora and fauna whilst travelling through our wilderness. Explore it with a friendly guide who will lead you to spectacular views of the Coorong, tell you about the many trials and tribulations of this region, and inform you about the local flora and fauna.

Half Day Tag Tour

Enjoy an afternoon tea amongst 7,000ha of heritage vegetation.
Bookings essential.

Full Day Tag Tour

Take you into privately held pristine wilderness and allow you to immerse yourself into a tranquil and isolated environment, just a short step away from the usual tourist path.

Overnight Tag Tour

Come and spend the weekend at Watervalley Wetlands and let us do the navigating whilst you relax and enjoy our diverse landscape. This extended tour is great for people who want to get off the highway and wander down towards the South East's wine region.

On the tour you will be guided through our system of wetlands, pristine heritage listed vegetation and shown some spectacular views. We then pull up for the night either under the stars or in the Wetland Centre and if weather permits we can have a camp fire and watch the stars roll across the sky.

The following day will take in a full day's drive through to Pretty Johnny's and on to Jip Jip Waterhole; both places ideal habitats for an amazing variety of flora and fauna. Come and join us for a magnificent bush camping experience!
